What To Expect

Children and families will enter a playroom full of possibilities with materials to explore emotions, social situations, and sensory needs. Make sure to check out the photos of the office to get a feel for the space!

A session lasts 50 minutes, which is comprised of clinician directed interventions, child directed play, and family oriented activities. Expect to laugh, play, move, and create. Children need the opportunity to explore the world in their own language, the language of play.

Children will not be in therapy forever, but you will be your child’s parent forever, so the parent-therapist partnership is the most important aspect of therapy. This might mean that the parent is in the room for the entirety of the session! I want you to see what I am doing so that you can implement therapeutic techniques at home to ensure continuity between the therapeutic setting and the home setting.

My work is attachment-based which means that a lot of it is nonverbal or relational. For this reason, there are times where I film my sessions (with parent consent). I also try to do a parent feedback session once a month so that we can talk about your child’s progress in therapy!
